📝 Reflection
Exodus 14: 13 But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. 14The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”
This time of year we are so full of resolve and commitment to our plans. What happens when the excitement wears off and the motivations wanes? Do you have enough faith in your plan and commitment to your goal/vision to keep going when the going gets tough?
I was reading Exodus this morning, what an epic adventure (btw)! I have quoted a verse above where God is using Moses to reassure the Israelites to stick to the plan (my interpretation for sure). The verses before this had the Israelites grumbling and wishing for slavery again, because surely that had to better than what was coming their way as the Egyptians were pursuing them. They were afraid and losing hope and wanted to just throw in the towel and they doubted the promises of God's plan.
I love how God's word is living and active and applicable even as we read it in modern times with modern eyes. I certainly can identify with the people of Israel, can't you! It is hard to keep going when you can't see the results you are expecting. That is why it is so important to stick to the plan even when it seems impossible and it is hard, because we know that the story isn't over there! They are rescued!
Keep the vision of what result you will have if you stick to your plan fresh in your minds eye and in your heart and stick to the plan! No Plan B! I know that stopping the habit of drinking is hard, but friends it is so worth it!! If you haven't worked on your why and your vision of what going AF will do for you take the time to do this! It is a vital part of the process to have a plan with a vision! If you veer off of the plan, that is ok, be honest about it and process the learning from it and get back to the plan!
