Revelation 19: 10
'Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers and sisters who testify about their faith *in the testimony of Jesus. Worship only God. For the essence of prophecy is **the message confirmed by Jesus. ” ‘
Worship only God.(period), or even more simply put in the ESV translation Worship God.period.
Here is the ESV translation: 'Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.‘ Several translations are almost identical to this.
This is profound. Worship God. In the next section of this chapter it goes on to describe a rider on a white horse, whose name is faithful and true, he also has a name inscribed that no one knows but himself, also His name is the Word of God, and on his robe and on his thigh he has a name inscribed ‘King of Kings and Lord of Lords”.
The word worship means the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity, to regard with are or extravagant respect, honor, or devotion. We often are invited to exchange the word God for Love also throughout scripture. So the instruction is to devote ourselves, honor, express reverence for and adore Love itself. Love is life, to live fully is to Love fully. To experience the fullness of God’s love and grace.
Jesus was the way shower by his testimony. He was a light bearer and the ‘Spirit of prophesy’. But we are to worship only God. Jesus saved us by showing us the way to truly worship God. Not with rules, but in our spirits with the spirit. We communicate (commune) in stillness with the spirit. We get in touch with our higher self through and by worshipping God with our lives, through our conscious intention and constant attention; ’praying ceaselessly’. Taking thoughts captive and choosing love over fear, peace over conflict, humility over pride, honesty over deceit, contentment over envy and greed, courage over laziness, sobriety over gluttony, kindness over lust, justice over power.
We die to ourselves and our lower nature to become more of who we really are in Christlikeness, higher selves. With practice we can retrain ourselves and be strong of mind and spirit. His ways will be written on our minds and heart. We worship God by loving him with our whole heart, mind and strength, by following in the way of Jesus. Loving love, when we simplify it down to the core message we amplify the power of Love. Perfect love casts out fear, we have all probably had at least moments where we know at the core of our beings that it is true. It is only elusive because we as humans tend to be negatively biased, “if it sound to good to be true, then it is”. God is the exception to this general rule. Because it in order to achieve it, you have to surrender willingly, it is HARD. The ego does not surrender without a fight.
We can just choose the path of non resistance like Jesus did. Spending time worshipping God, acknowledging him in all your ways and your paths will be made straight. We don’t have to fight with the ego, we just have to choose God over the ego. It is a skill we can practice and develop if you want. Most of us when we know it don’t really want it, like the rich young ruler, we walk away sad…It seem too hard, rules seem easier at the end of the day for many.

Whom do you worship? Worship can be simple but powerful, in fact the more simple the more powerful. Can you learn to let your life sing a constant song of worship? Love love, the more you practice choosing love the more love you will experience, what is not to love about that?
