Revelation 5: 6
'Then I saw a Lamb that looked as if it had been slaughtered, but it was now standing between the throne and the four living beings and among the twenty-four elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the sevenfold Spirit of God that is sent out into every part of the earth. '
I am going to continue with the theme of patterns because that is what keeps popping out to me. Today the number 7 was everywhere in this chapter. As the vision continues we are told that in the right had of ‘the one on the throne’ is a scroll with writing on the inside and outside and it is sealed with 7 seals. Then an angel announces that there is no one worthy enough to open it. So John begins to weep bitterly.
Then a voice of one of the elders says, stop crying look there is the lion of Judah, he is worthy. Then John sees a slaughtered lamb with 7 horns and 7 eyes, which represent the sevenfold spirit of God “that is sent out INTO EVERY PART OF THE EARTH”. Wow, what does that mean? What is this really saying? We live in a dimensional world. We know of three that we can define width, depth and height and that we experience, but we also have consciousness, we exist in time there is a life force that permeates much of life on earth, there is space and matter also in the 3D world.
Throughout the Bible we are also often reminded of the unseen realm. What other patterns do we know of in 7’s. There is of course how we track days of the week. Crops are supposed to rest every seven years. Joseph was told to forgive 7 times and even 7 times 7. We as humans exist as triune beings; mind, body and sprit, but then our body is also made up of a flesh, bone, nervous system, heart, brain. We have a body, four limbs, a head and inner parts. 7 is the number that signifies completion.
As we live our lives we go through stages; birth, baby, child, teen, young adult, middle age, old age. I am sure you might also think of other patterns of 7. But there is another interesting clue in this scripture as it discusses the sevenfold spirt of God:
'And they sang in a mighty chorus: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered— to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.” 'Revelation 5:12
1- power
2- riches
3- wisdom
4- strength
5- honor
6- glory
7- blessing
So going back up to the above text he sends these 7 things INTO every part of the earth. That includes into you and me.
Things are not as they seem, we have to open our spiritual eyes and put our powerful thinking caps (horn) on. The lion of Judah, the slaughtered lamb, what we see with our limited 3D selves doesn’t reveal the whole truth, it is a mirage, a distortion. We have to step into who we really are wake up from the dream of being just a human. We are spiritual beings, that is more real than what we think is real. We have in us power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and blessing. But we have to have faith, step into it and see it and experience it. We do this through prayer, quiet surrender, stillness, getting ‘ourselves’ out of the way and letting spirit talk to spirit.
