Day 296- To Infinity and Beyond

📝 Reflection
Ephesians 3: 8-12, 17-20
“Though I am the least deserving of all God’s people, he graciously gave me the privilege of telling the Gentiles about the endless treasures available to them in Christ. I was chosen to explain to everyone this mysterious plan that God, the Creator of all things, had kept secret from the beginning. God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord. Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.”
“Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
I wanted to have a little fun today with a Buzz Lightyear quote, ‘Infinity and beyond’. But seriously that is kind of what the offer seems to be from God through accepting his love and accepting the call to die to our lower or false self, be humble, have faith and live in and for love. The more we receive and the more we give it away the more we open ourselves to the infinite treasures of possibility.
Not quite sure what to make of the reference of the purpose of the church to be evidence of his wisdom to the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places means, but that will be fun to continue to explore and meditate on. We are so much more than we can think or imagine, we are part of the infinite. We are so significant that God sends us messages, teachings, teachers, the Holy Spirit. Why would we not want all he has to offer?
Our brains and the logical mind of our lower and false self tells us things like ‘I’ll believe it when I see it’ “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is’ ‘That sounds nice but… you don’t know my situation or what happened to me….’ ‘That is for other people, they are special or have it easy…’. In other words we block our own blessings. We want proof before we will go in a new direction or live a new way. But that is not faith.
We are loved, we are known, we are seen when we live from that truth on the narrow path of humility we open ourselves up to endless treasures. We must die to our former selves, being led by only the flesh and become a new creation and live in the new way of life to experience this feeling of infinity internally. Infinity within allows me to experience infinity beyond.
Love so big that it bursts out of you and brings you boldly and with ultimate humility that you can confidently into God’ presence. Live HUGELY- Humble me, Use me, Guide me, Everyday, Lead me, Your way. The huge life requires you to be small, infinity requires you to limit your flesh, freedom often requires you to hold your thoughts, impulses and desires captive. When you can hold opposing truths in your heart and mind you are opening yourself up to the infinite beyond what you can see.
